The case involves a prostitute who claims to have had sex with members of the Oakland, Richmond and Livermore police departments, and deputies with the Alameda and Contra Costa county sheriff's departments.

It has not been disclosed whether the officers paid for sex with the prostitute.

Two Oakland officers have resigned, and personnel from multiple agencies have been placed on leave.

The woman's relations with a few of the officers allegedly began when she was underage. She turned 18 last August.

The prostitute showed text messages to the Mercury-News which purportedly show an Oakland police officer tipping her off to an undercover operation targeting the sex trade.
