Halftime: CV 19, DLS 13

At the half: Anderson leads Castro Valley with 6-points, while Bobbitt and Read each have 5. Great defensive half for both teams. The Trojan's 6-foot-2 guard Bobbitt has three blocks and is changing the game in the paint for CV.

In the rematch of the North Coast Section finals, De La Salle came into the contest determined to take care of the basketball. In their previous meeting, which resulted in a lopsided—60-42—victory for CV, the Spartans' turned the ball over 17 times. Tonight at Power Balance Pavilion (Formerly Arco Arena), DLS already has nine turnovers, compared to only seven for the Trojans. The CV pressure is starting to pay dividends... pressure bursts pipes.

DE LA SALLE WINS! Spartans go to the California state championship!

De La Salle 49, Castro Valley 43

The Spartans down yet another Northern California powerhouse. Unbelievable considering they were picked by many to finish under .500 at the beginning of the season.

Pacos has to be the MVP. He was the catalyst in the DLS second-half tear. For the second straight week the Spartans turned up the tempo in the second half to overcome large first half deficits to turn the table on longer, more athletic teams. Allocco dialed up the perfect press-breaks and and his team executed to perfect.

Mater Dei is up next. One of the best high schools basketball teams in the country. I watched them trounce Austin Rivers' Florida team in a tournament on ESPN a few months back. But... Mater Dei will never see a more cohesive and better coached team than Concord's own De La Salle Spartans.
