Man Killed In Thanksgiving Day Fire ID'd

SAN LORENZO,CA – A man who was killed in a residential structure fire in San Lorenzo on Thanksgiving Day has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as 30-year-old Carvel Rankin III of San Lorenzo.

A one-alarm fire was reported burning in a single-story home in the 1400 block of Via Coralla just before 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 22, Alameda County fire officials said.

The fire was extinguished within about 20 minutes but during a subsequent search of the scene, firefighters found a body that ultimately was identified as Rankin's, according to fire officials.
