Masked Gunmen Steal Vehicles In Alameda County: Sheriff's Office
The sheriff's office is investigating two different crimes as possibly related.

ALAMEDA COUTY — The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is investigating two recent attempted vehicle thefts perpetrated by armed suspects as possibly related after different vehicle owners were confronted by masked gunman in San Lorenzo and Cherryland.
The first attempted auto theft was reported just after 7 p.m. Sunday in San Lorenzo. The suspects attempted to steal a vehicle from a residence in the 1900 block of Via Sarita and fired a handgun at the residence in the process.
They fled without the vehicle and nobody inside the residence was injured, but a front window was broken by the shot.

On Monday, deputies were called to the 20000 block of Angus Way in an unincorporated area of the county near Hayward where a similar robbery unfolded.
In that case, a resident was again fired at as they went to check on their vehicle. Several more shots were fired at the victim as the masked suspect fled south in a dark sedan, but the victim was not injured.

The Sheriff's Office's Gang Suppression Unit is investigating the crimes as potentially related because of the similarity.
