PHOTOS: National Coming Out Day Rally Beams With Castro Valley Pride

Rainbow clothing, flags and signs filled the corner of Redwood Road and Castro Valley Boulevard on Tuesday evening as dozens of supporters and advocates from the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community came out to rally for National Coming Out Day.

Castro Valley Pride, an unofficial LGBT group, that also helped with the , organized the event. Not only did they rally for support of the newly "emerged," they also rallied for acceptance and equality.

"After you come out for the first time, it's a constant process from then on," said Castro Valley resident and gay advocate, Shannon Silva. "Every time you meet someone new, you're coming out."

LGBT advocates and supporters like Bill Bradford said many also had gay marriage and repealing Proposition 8 on their minds and signs in their hands.

"Injustice can only last so long and then it's defeated," he said. "Marriage is a civil right and you we can't and we will not be denied it."
