Cheap and free activities, classes and events for teens.

This week’s Frugal Family focuses on teen activities to keep your teen busy as school winds down and summer approaches. With lessons, classes and groups available, your teen will have plenty to do to pass the time. And the best part? Many of the events are free.

Deal: Get a ticket for , scheduled for June 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and take advantage of the gaming equipment at the library. Teens will be able to hang out with friends while playing Wii, Xbox 360, PS2 and Kinect. Tickets are free and refreshments will be served.

3. JAZZY CRAFTS
Deal: Stop in for some crafting on Sunday, May 22 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for kids ages 14 and older. Participants will learn the basics of working with clay and will create a project to take home. The cost of the class is $25.

4. SAN LEANDRO LIBRARIES
Deal: Teens can sign up to be library volunteers over the summer, adding to their resume and giving back to the community. Orientations are available at the and the on May 21, 24 and 28.
The Fine Print: Kids going in to grades 9 through 12 are welcome to attend orientation days.
