Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Learn how you can transform the life of a Coachella Valley youth in foster care as a <a href="https://about:blank" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer</a>.
CASAs volunteers are trained by <a href="https://about:blank" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Voices for Children</a> and matched with a child or sibling group in foster care. They get to know the child’s situation, communicate with professionals on the case, and ensure the child’s needs are being met. Right now, 24 local children&nbsp;are&nbsp;waiting for a CASA of their own, so the need is real.
Voices for Children invites you to attend an in-person information session on Thursday, October 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Regional Access Project (RAP) Foundation located at 41-550 Eclectic St. in Palm Desert. 
During the session, you will:
●Learn about the role of a CASA, the training and support provided, and the difference you can make in a child’s life.
●Meet the Voices for Children team, hear directly from a CASA volunteer, and discover how your time and compassion can help a local child feel seen, supported, and heard.
●Learn about the application process and the next steps to becoming a CASA volunteer.
Join us to learn how, with only 10 hours a month, you can help a child thrive and put them on a path toward a successful future.

Vintage glamour. Timeless songs. Sassy comedy. And only slightly bad behavior.
Step into the wonderfully unpredictable world of Toots McApplesauce for Only Slightly Misbehaving, a vintage-inspired musical comedy cabaret where old Hollywood elegance meets a gloriously wandering train of thought.
Toots is an elegant society lady—or at least that’s the plan. With classic songs, jazz standards, original musical parody, character comedy, storytelling, and playful audience interaction, she attempts to maintain her dignity while her junk-drawer brain has other ideas. Between the music, memories, and whatever she came into the room to say, the evening has a habit of wandering delightfully off course.
Behind Toots is Susan Sassi, a Los Angeles-based vocalist, actor, comedy writer, and cabaret performer whose work combines vintage entertainment with sharp contemporary humor. A graduate of Point Park Conservatory’s Musical Theatre program, Susan has also trained with UCB, iO, Second City, and the Walnut Street Theatre Acting Apprenticeship. Her work has appeared at Visionarium Live, Don’t Tell Mama, and venues and community programs throughout Southern California and the East Coast.
For this special evening at Spirit Animal, Susan will perform Only Slightly Misbehaving as an approximately one-hour cabaret, followed by a short break. She’ll then return for a second set featuring jazz and Great American Songbook standards, for a full evening of live entertainment.
Whether you love classic jazz, vintage cabaret, character comedy, or simply appreciate a woman desperately trying to keep an evening classy, Only Slightly Misbehaving promises music, laughter, glamour, and just the right amount of mischief.

Spirit Animal, located inside Hotel Zoso in downtown Palm Springs, is Take Five’s premium live entertainment venue—reimagined as a retro-inspired nightlife destination. Featuring state-of-the-art sound and lighting, a full bar, comfortable seating, and a non-smoking environment, Spirit Animal was built for intimate, high-quality live entertainment experiences.
