3-Year-Old Dies in 5-Story Fall

A 3-year-old girl fell from a fifth-story inner courtyard walkway at a hotel in Anaheim, and was killed, a police lieutenant said today.

Paramedics rushed the child from Embassy Suites, 3100 E. Frontera Street, to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. She was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, according to the Coroner’s Office.

Police were dispatched to the hotel at about 6:30 p.m. on a report that a child had fallen from an upper floor, said Anaheim police Lt. Eric Trapp.

When paramedics arrived they located the child suffering from a severe injury, Trapp said.

The little girl was in town with family from Las Vegas. The Coroner’s Office has identified her as Stephanie Martinez.
