A motorist was injured today when a pickup truck crashed into a tree at the side of the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in the Lakewood area, authorities said.The crash occurred south of Carson Street about 6:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.Firefighters freed the man from the wreckage, and paramedics took him to a hospital in unknown condition. Two lanes were blocked while crews worked to clear the scene.--City News Service
