Jeep Plows into Cerritos Living Room

A 22-year-old man crashed into a condo on Rancho Vista Drive Sunday.

A Jeep whose 22-year-old driver may have suffered a medical emergency plowed into a condominium in Cerritos today, going about half way into the living room of a unit where no one was at home, authorities said.

It happened about 7 p.m. in the 12400 block of Rancho Vista Drive, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Lt. Steve Marella said.

The Jeep, which had been southbound on Judy Way, hit a parked car before striking the condominium, Marella said.

The driver -- a Cerritos resident -- was taken to a hospital, the lieutenant said, but an update on his condition was not immediately available.

The man may have suffered a seizure or other medical emergency, but that was not confirmed, Marella said.
