Young Victims in Fatal Cerritos Wreck Identified
An 18-year-old and 23-year-old were killed when their car veered off the freeway and into a tree.

Authorities today identified a man and woman who were killed when their car ran off a freeway and struck a tree in Cerritos.
The crash on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway north of South Street was reported at 12:37 a.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reeves Ortega, 18, and Elizabeth Alvarado, 23, both of Norwalk died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. Alvarado was driving, Winter said.

According to the CHP, the 2002 Saturn Ion veered off the freeway and went down an embankment before striking a tree.
