Chico police seek public's help to find suspect in home stabbing on Ceres Avenue (krcrtv.com) — Chico police are asking residents for help identifying a man suspected of stabbing two people inside a home on Ceres Avenue Friday afternoon, leaving one victim with serious injuries. Neighbors are urged to stay alert, review any surveillance footage from around 4:50 p.m., and call Chico police at 530-897-4911 with tips about the suspect's identity or whereabouts.
   

2. Pumpkin Splash brings fall fun to Chico's PV Pool (actionnewsnow.com) — Families in Chico can dive into fall at the Pumpkin Splash event on Oct. 3 at PV Pool on North Avenue, where kids pick pumpkins right from the water. The Chico Area Recreation & Park District is offering decorating supplies, music, treats, and Halloween-themed fun from 1 to 4 p.m. for a $10 ticket.
   

3. Butte County crews clear Bidwell Park basin for flood season (actionnewsnow.com) — Work is underway this week in Chico's Five-Mile Basin at Bidwell Park, where Butte County crews are clearing vegetation to keep the flood control channel flowing before winter storms. The roughly $503,000 project, funded through the county's Community Service Area, aims to preserve improved capacity and will guide future long-term flood control decisions.
   

4. Shakedown Citi Brings an East Coast Edge to the Grateful Dead Tradition on First California Tour (gratefulweb.com) — Chico music fans can catch New York jam band Shakedown Citi at Lost on Main on November 12 as part of their first-ever California tour. The group, inspired by the Grateful Dead's improvisational spirit, is playing nine shows statewide and promises a high-energy, exploratory set when they stop in downtown Chico.
   

5. Retired Chico police dog Aron, 13, passes away in Michigan (actionnewsnow.com) — Chico residents are remembering retired police K9 Aron, who served with Chico PD from 2016 before spending his final years with his handler's family in Michigan. The energetic Belgian Malinois helped locate firearms, perform searches, and de-escalate tense situations, earning a Medal of Merit for his service to the community.
