1. Chico police arrest Orland man after gun found in discarded bag (krcrtv.com) — Chico police arrested a 19-year-old Orland man after a 911 call reported a shooting threat at a home on Cedar Street, leading officers to a discarded bag containing a firearm. The suspect, prohibited from owning guns due to prior juvenile felonies, now faces multiple felony charges related to illegal weapon and ammunition possession.

2. Chico mom's advocacy changes B Line stroller policy (actionnewsnow.com) — A legally blind Chico mom's advocacy has led to an immediate change in B Line bus rules, letting riders keep strollers, wagons, or bikes in the securement area when space isn't needed for mobility devices. Approved by the Butte County Association of Governments, the new policy should make everyday trips to parks, downtown, and grocery stores much easier for Chico families using transit.

3. MLK Parkway, E. 20th Street reopens to traffic after vehicle vs tree collision (actionnewsnow.com) — Drivers in Chico can once again use the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Parkway and East 20th Street after a vehicle hit a tree and briefly blocked both directions. Chico Police say the road reopened Tuesday night after emergency crews cleared the scene, and they are still seeking more details about the driver who fled.

4. Redding schools see flat enrollment, while Chico drops 110 students this year (krcrtv.com) — Chico schools have about 110 fewer students this year, dropping from 12,336 to 12,226, even as Redding's enrollment holds steady and Eureka's also dips slightly. These early counts can still change, but they hint at modest shifts that could affect class sizes, funding, and planning for Chico families and educators.

5. Survey Could Shape Chico, Oroville Bus Service (gridleyherald.com) — Chico residents are being asked to help shape future B-Line bus service through a new Chico–Oroville Bus Network Study survey. Butte County Association of Governments wants feedback on whether routes should prioritize frequent service on busy streets or broader neighborhood coverage, with paper and online surveys available in multiple languages, including at the Chico transit center.
