BUTTE COUNTY, CA β Firefighters from the Alameda County strike team posted this harrowing video filmed as they drove through the ruthless flames of the brutal Camp Fire in Butte County. The footage shows the sparks and flames as they lick at the dry trees and brush along the road. The video has garnered almost 4,000 views since it was posted to Twitter Friday morning.
The firefighters are part of OES Strike Team 2870C, assigned by the California Office of Emergency Services. The team is comprised of firefighters from Fremont, Hayward, Oakland and Alameda County.
The Camp Fire ignited early Thursday, Nov. 8 and has killed five people. The blaze has burned 70,000 acres, destroying an estimated 2,000 structures, threatening 15,000 more, and forcing the closure of highways in Northern California. The massive wildfire is just one of several burning in California.

Acting Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an emergency proclamation for Butte County due to the blaze.
