• SB 802: Citrus Heights among cities now required to form countywide homelessness agency (citrusheightssentinel.com) — Citrus Heights is now legally required to join Sacramento County and nearby cities in forming a regional homelessness and housing authority by 2028 under newly signed SB 802. City leaders previously opposed the bill but shifted to neutral after amendments let each jurisdiction keep control of its own funds, and Citrus Heights has already appointed representatives to a new regional planning task force.
   

• CHWD Appoints Acting General Manager (citrusheightsmessenger.com) — Citrus Heights residents will see a leadership change at their water district, as longtime engineer Melissa "Missy" Pieri has been appointed Acting General Manager to oversee daily operations and service for about 70,000 customers. Pieri, who helped lead Project 2030 to replace aging water mains, succeeds retiring general manager Hilary Straus and is expected to guide the district through its next chapter of infrastructure upgrades.
