Pieri, a key leader behind the District's Project 2030 main replacement effort, steps in as former general manager Hilary Straus retires after more than two decades serving the local community.

• New Law Requires Sacramento Cities, County to Team Up on Homelessness (californiacitynews.org) — Citrus Heights will be required to join Sacramento County and nearby cities in a new joint powers authority to coordinate housing and homelessness policy by 2028 under SB 802, just signed by the Governor. The law, opposed by county supervisors but backed by supporters seeking less fragmentation, lets each jurisdiction keep control of its own funds while sharing regional decision-making.
