Claremont McKenna Gets $7.5 Million Gift
The gift comes from graduate A. Steve Crown and his wife, Nancy, college officials said.

Claremont McKenna College announced today a $7.5 million unrestricted gift from CMC trustee and 1974 graduate A. Steve Crown and his wife, Nancy.
The Crown family is behind the Crown Challenge, an effort to re-engage alumni that has helped increase alumni participation from 38 percent to 48 percent in three years, according to CMC.
Their new gift propels the Campaign for Claremont McKenna past the $610 million mark.

The Board of Trustees will change the name of the campus' Claremont Hall to Crown Hall in recognition of the gift.
"Steve Crown's generosity is as big and broad as his philanthropic vision," board Chairman Harry T. McMahon said. "The Crown Challenge has been one of the most impressive gifts ever to CMC."
