Claremont to Dismiss Parking Violations
Several citations were issued to vehicles in the area of Claremont's Wilderness Park.

Several park goers near Claremont's Wilderness Park got a pricey surprise by mistake March 9.
Officials said Monday several citations were issued to vehicles parked along Mills Avenue and Mount Baldy Road in error, according to Claremont city officials. Those citations will be dismissed, officials said.
“As construction of the Wilderness Park Parking Lot at the north end of Mills Avenue nears completion, signs displaying the new ‘No Parking’ areas on Mills Avenue and Mt. Baldy Road have been installed and are temporarily covered,” officials wrote in a message to the community. “These new ‘no parking’ areas will not be enforced and off limits for parking until after the new lot opens within the next two weeks.”

This only applies to areas where the City has covered over the new signs and does not change existing parking restriction signs, officials said.
All park visitors who received parking citations while parked in these newly designated "no parking" areas on March 9 will be notified and advised that the citations are being dismissed. When the new parking lot opens, signs will be uncovered and the new "no parking" areas and the meters in the parking lots will be enforced.

On March 16 and 17, staff said they plan to be at the entrance to the Wilderness Park to distribute information about the new parking lot regulations to visitors.
Anyone who received a parking citation on March 9 is asked to call the Claremont Police Department at 909-399-5411.
