Congress Apologizes to Chinese-Americans for Discrimination
The House of Representatives recently passed a resolution sponsored by Rep. Judy Chu apologizing for discriminatory practices against Chinese-Americans.

The United States recently added Chinese-Americans to the list of groups it has apologized to for discriminatory practices.
Last week, the House or Representatives passed a resolution apologizing for the passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act 130 years ago, reported CNN. The exclusion act severely restricted Chinese immigration and naturalization and denied Chinese-Americans basic rights because of their race.
Rep. Judy Chu, D-El Monte, sponsored the resolution. Chu is the first Chinese-American woman elected to Congress.
