Deputies Determine Suspicious Package Was Safe

A box containing a broken item kept streets near Valley Center and Arrow Highway closed for a few hours.

Any La Verne residents driving through San Dimas may have noticed some police activity today.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies spent a few hours checking out a reported suspicious package left on a bus bench at Arrow Highway and Valley Center Avenue Wednesday.

A passerby alerted the San Dimas Sheriff's Station to the package. Deputies immediately closed off surrounding streets and evacuated the shopping center.
