Police warn residents to remain vigilant as they converge in La Palma, the last known address of an ex-cop accused of killing three people in a murderous rampage.

The investigation of a fired cop accused of a calculated murder spree has moved into North Orange County.

Irvine police said the investigation into suspected cop-killer Christopher Dorner is ongoing in La Palma, Dorner’s last known address and the city where his mother lives.

The fired LAPD officer, 33, is suspected in the revenge slayings of Monica Quan, a former Walnut High School student and her fiance Keith Lawrence and Thursday's ambush killing of a Riverside police officer.

Heavily armed authorities were guarding a home on Sharon Drive in La Palma on Friday afternoon. However, investigators did not have any reports of a specific threat in the area, according to Irvine Police Department Lt. Julia Engen.

“I don't have any specific information about that and if we knew there was a specific threat we would definitely be letting people now,” Engen said by email. “For now we are asking everyone to remain vigilant until [he] is in custody.”
