No Funding For Metro Gold Line Extension

Local government officials have asked the MTA for $765 million to complete the extension from Azusa to Claremont.

The plan for the San Gabriel Valley extension to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Gold Line is still missing one of its most crucial aspects: its funding.

According to The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, MTA Chief Executive Officer Art Leahy told a group of San Gabriel Valley elected officials after their request for $765 million for an extension from Azusa to Claremont that, "there is no more money for the Gold Line."

"The Gold Line is funded to Azusa. Period," Leahy said.
