Pomona Valley Hospital Reps Say They'll Have to Wait to See Effects of Healthcare Law

Check back with Patch for more reaction from locals to the Supreme Court's health care decision today.

The Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is one of the largest hosptals serving the Claremont, La Verne and Pomona areas. Representatives from the hospital today issued a press release stating that the landmark decision by the Supreme Court on President Barack Obama's healthcare law would not have an immediate effect on its services:

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has long been committed to serving all people – insured and uninsured. It’s clear that today’s ruling by the Supreme Court to uphold the majority of the Affordable Care Act will take some time and dedicated work to implement. Some portions of the Act will not take effect until 2014 and will require additional clarification by legislators before hospitals can begin implementation.

The California Hospital Association today issued a statement wherein they cited the 'Triple Aim' of today’s ruling – improving quality of care, reducing health care costs and improving the patient experience. Pomona Valley Hospital has long been dedicated to these goals and we will continue to pursue efforts to make healthcare more accessible for all patients.
