A man driving a speeding BMW collided with a sport utility vehicle Tuesday night and a semitrailer in Pomona, seriously injuring himself and another motorist, according to police The crash in the 400 block of East Holt Avenue happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Pomona police Lt. Alex Rilloraza. County firefighters cut the BMW driver out of the wreckage, he said. The motorist was airlifted to a hospital for treatment, he said. The driver of the SUV, which was rear-ended, was taken to a hospital in an ambulance, said a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher. Fire department personnel didn't clear the scene until 1:05 a.m., the dispatcher said. The crash wreckage was scattered over a 1-1/2 block stretch of Holt Avenue, a news photographer reported from the scene.
