Arrest Made In Fatal Concord Stabbing, Police Say
A woman was fatally stabbed when a verbal argument escalated, police said.
CONCORD, CA— A woman was stabbed to death early Saturday in Concord, and officers arrested a suspect in connection with the homicide after an extensive search, police said.
The stabbing was reported at 12:20 a.m. Saturday on Willow Pass Road near Second Street.
"Upon arrival, officers found the female victim deceased," police said. "According to witnesses, a verbal argument ensued between the victim and the suspect which turned physical. During the confrontation, the victim sustained multiple stab wounds and died at the scene as a result. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival."

A Concord police K9 unit, a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, and a California Highway Patrol Air unit searched the area for a potential suspect.
"Ultimately, CPD officers located the suspect not far from the original crime scene," police said. "There does not appear to be any outstanding suspects."

Police did not release the name of the suspect nor of the victim, citing an ongoing investigation.
