Concord PD Reunites Baseball Hall of Fame Ring and Owner
The ring sat in a property room for years before the owner was eventually found.

CONCORD, CA -- The Concord Police Department recently shared a heartwarming story for the holidays involving a suspected stolen baseball Hall of Fame ring that was reunited with its rightful owner after more than six years.
From the Department's Facebook page:
"In October of this year, our property personnel came across a case from back in 2010. In that case, a piece of property was taken that had been suspected of being stolen. The property was a 1995 California Community College Baseball Hall of Fame ring which was awarded to a specific person (name being withheld). The Officer at the time could not locate the original owner after a thorough investigation, so he handed it over to our property room in hopes that eventually someone would claim it.

After six years, the ring was set to be destroyed.
Our property personnel couldn’t bear to see such an obviously treasured ring get destroyed, so they tried one more time to locate the original owner. They ran into the same roadblocks as the original Officer did and were coming up empty in their investigation. Thankfully, they were able to locate a possible family member of the owner for the ring and he turned out to be the owner’s son.

The owner’s son arranged to pick up the ring for his father and gave us some history behind the ring. The owner earned the ring as a college baseball coach and it meant more to him than the Major League Baseball World Series ring he earned as a scout for the Florida Marlins.
We couldn’t be more thrilled that we were able to reunite him with such a treasured ring and want to thank our property personnel for the amazing work they did to make it all happen!"
