Funds Raised For Reward In Woman's Contra Costa Co. Death Investigation

BREAKING: The "Justice for Aleli Avila" fundraising campaign has a goal of $8,000.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- A GoFundMe page was set up Tuesday to raise money for a reward to help Contra Costa County sheriff's deputies find the person who killed a woman whose body was found in Byron last week. The fundraiser page identified the woman who died as Aleli Avila, who was also known as Lily, Blue and Kitty.

Avila's body was found Aug. 22 after someone called at about 3:50 p.m. to say they found a body dumped on the property of a sand mine in the 500 block of Camino Diablo, a dirt road in unincorporated Contra Costa
County.

"Aleli Avila was a free spirit in this world," the GoFundMe post said. "She loved her family fiercely."

The post said Avila is survived by four children, including two who served tours in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army.

The family is offering $5,000 plus additional donations to help deputies find out who killed Avila.
