Have a fitness goal? Guaranteed way to get it.

Having a fitness goal is an important. But, that does not guarantee you will achieve it. However, this will.

Do you have a specific fitness goal that you are hoping to achieve? Your goal could be a body fat percentage, or a clothing size. Or maybe you are hoping to wear a certain cut or style of clothes like strappy tank tops, shorts, or a bathing suit this coming summer.

While having any of these goals is great, it will NOT guarantee success.

But you knew that, because this isn’t the first time that you’ve had a fitness goal. And more significantly, a goal that you didn’t meet. In fact, I'm guessing you are not the only one. You probably know dozens of other people who also have struggled to meet their fitness goals.

Here’s the typical scenario. Let me know if this seems familiar. You get all pumped up to lose weight and get into shape and start off completely gung-ho. But your enthusiasm only lasts about two weeks before old habits and routine slide back into place, causing your results and progress to skid to a screeching halt before reaching your ultimate goal. And then, sadly, your goal begins to fade from your mind, and life goes back to "normal", which is that same thing you so desperately wanted to get away from in the beginning.
The problem, my friend...your initial focus was on a "vain" result rather than a sustainable healthy process.

Let's break this down…

Fitness success is not about focusing on your goal. SAY WHAT?

That's right! In order to accomplish your health goals, the focus can't be on a "vain" result, a certain way you want look, or a number on a scale.

Instead, the focus needs to be on creating the healthy habits necessary, and getting a little bit better with those habits every day. Of course, once you’ve stuck with your healthier new lifestyle and habits for a while, you’ll also end up meeting the appearance goal!

This may go against everything you’ve come to believe about achieving a goal, but then again, your techniques may not have helped you achieve your goals...yet.

The number that you’re hoping to magically see on the scale one day doesn’t matter one bit, and here’s why…

IT’S ABOUT LIVING IN THE MOMENTUM.

Can you remember how it felt the last time that you ate clean, exercised hard, and got adequate sleep for a few consecutive days? A feeling of momentum came over you, didn’t it? You KNOW it did!

You were proud and excited that YOU were making positive changes in you life, for your health. You felt alive, you felt sexy, and you felt empowered. Never mind that you weren’t yet at your goal number, or fitting into that swimsuit yet. You knew you were headed in the right direction because of the healthy choices you intentionally made, and you felt good about the healthy habits you had created!

Getting down to your goal weight, and fitting into your goal size, is the direct result of living in that state of momentum for an extended period of time. You see, the momentum can be felt immediately, once you start eating clean, exercising hard and taking care of your health, whereas that “goal number” simply can’t be felt until it is achieved (which will probably take awhile), and so it’s not as powerful a motivator. And a reason that a lot of people fail to reach their goals.

My challenge and advice to you is to find the joy of living in your momentum, and keep that going until your goals are achieved.

Focus on your momentum, not on a "vain" appearance goal/number on a scale.
Fitness is a way of life. Being lean is a lifestyle. Neither of which can be had by going about it half-heartedly.
You have to become the momentum.

If you need help finding your momentum, I am only a call or email away. Let's find it and get you moving in the fit direction!
