It's On: CHP Contra Costa Throws The 'Git Up' Challenge

WATCH: California Highway Patrol Contra Costa officers dance to Blanco Brown's "Git Up," and challenge Concord PD and SFPD to do the same.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The "Git Up" craze hit the East Bay Thursday with the release of a video featuring California Highway Patrol officers from the Contra Costa area dancing to Blanco Brown's hit country rap song.

Similar to the "Wobble" dance challenge of 2017, CHP Contra Costa named a few law enforcement agencies and challenged them to produce their own "Git Up" video.

In doing so, CHP Contra Costa also challenged CHP Valley Division, Concord Police Department, San Francisco Police Department and Nevada Highway Patrol to donate to a nonprofit of their choice.

"We just raised the bar ... by doing our 'Git Up' Challenge in combination with donating to a local nonprofit organization," the agency said. "We chose Underdog Animal Rescue. If you're looking to foster or adopt man and woman's best friend, look no further. We'd love to see these dogs go to happy homes."
