It was the first of two fatal shootings that would happen Monday morning in Antioch.
ANTIOCH, CA — Police are searching for the suspect in a fatal shooting early Monday at an Antioch apartment complex. Numerous officers responded at 1:33 a.m. to reports of gunshots heard at the Twin Creek Apartments, 1111 James Donlon Blvd., Antioch police Lt. John Fortner said.
The shooting victim, a 36-year-old man, was found on the floor of the back patio of an apartment suffering for at least one serious gunshot wound, Fortner said.
"Officers immediately began providing first-aid and CPR to the victim until emergency paramedics arrived at the scene," Fortner said. "The victim succumbed to his injuries and passed at the scene."

"Shortly afterwards, a male suspect fired several gunshots and then fled the complex on-foot," Fortner said.
The victim's name was not immediately disclosed by police.
Antioch Police Department's crime scene investigators and detectives with the Violent Crimes and Special Operations Units responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
"At this time, the suspect responsible for this shooting has not been located," Fortner said. "Currently, the investigation is still active, and evidence is being collected."
It was the first of two fatal shootings that would happen Monday morning in Antioch. The second was reported around 8:30 a.m. about 2.5 miles away on Iron Peak Court off Lone Tree Way, where a man was shot dead in what police believe may have started as an argument between roommates. Police were interviewing the man's roommate as a person of interest in the shooting death.
