The Mount Diablo Bands (and Orchestras and Choruses) Play On

Take a look at some great photos from the weekend's All Area Music Festival.

Eleven groups from nine schools performed at The Mount Diablo Music Education Foundation’s second annual All Area Music Festival at the Sleep Train Pavilion on Saturday, May 14. The performances ranges from the musical “Yee Ha!” by the Westwood Elementary Show Choir, the Foothill Middle School Concert Band to high school Orchestra, Symphonic Bands and Jazz Ensemble.

The All Area Music Festival is a showcase for the music programs around the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and to show the community the importance of music education, according to a news release from Michael McNally of the Mount Diablo Music Education Foundation.

The groups performed in the following order: The Ygnacio Valley High Ensemble, soloists and ensembles from Clayton Valley High and Diablo View Middle School, Sleep Crisis (students from Clayton Valley High), the Valle Verde Elementary afterschool band, Foothill Middle School Concert Band, Westwood Elementary Show Choir (performed part of their musical “Yee Ha!”), Mt. Diablo High Voice Ensemble, the Concord High String Orchestra, the Northgate High School Symphonic Band, the Concord High School Symphonic Band,  the Northgate Wind Ensemble, and the Concord High Jazz Ensemble.
