• Woman Killed in Fiery Collision on 91 Freeway in Corona (mynewsla.com) — A woman was killed early Wednesday when another car slammed into her stalled Nissan on the westbound 91 at Green River Road in Corona, pushing her back into the vehicle before it caught fire. Corona firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, and CHP investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash to contact their Accident Investigation Unit. 
• RivCo Man Arrested In OC Shopping Center Pipe Bomb Scare (patch.com) — A Corona resident was arrested after Irvine police say they found a suspected pipe bomb and narcotics in his car at the Orchard Hills Shopping Center, prompting evacuations while the bomb squad rendered the device safe. Although the scare happened in Orange County, the man's Corona ties and pending charges make this a notable public-safety story for local residents.
