Boys Soccer Playoffs: Islanders Blank SD High Tech

Top-seeded Coronado High used a goal by Kyle Runyan to edge San Diego High Tech High 1-0 in the CIF San Diego Section Division IV boys soccer playoffs Friday. Ricardo Gonzalez Diaz recorded the shutout in goal for the Islanders, ranked No. 3 in the section in the San Diego Union-Tribune poll.
Coronado will now host fourth-seeded Bishop's, a 4-1 winner over Holtville on Friday, in the Division IV semifinals on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Mater Dei, the third seed, will visit second-seeded Francis Parker in the other semifinal.
