Guam-Based Navy Commander Arrested in San Diego On Suspicion of Attempted Rape: Report
BREAKING: The Coronado-trained helicopter squadron commander was reportedly arrested Monday.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The commander of a Guam-based Navy helicopter squadron bailed out of the San Diego Central Jail early Tuesday following his arrest in connection with a sex crimes investigation.
Neither the Navy nor the San Diego Police Department would immediately confirm that Cmdr. John Michael Neuhart, 39, was facing charges of attempted rape and assault. The head of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 was arrested Monday while in San Diego for a conference, according to the Navy Times.
Neuhart trained with a Coronado-based helicopter anti-submarine squadron in 2002, according to a Navy biography. He graduated from the United States Naval War College in 2015 with a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies and completed 36 combat missions in Iraq.
