Coronado officially joins nonprofit San Diego Community Power, eyes 2028 for service (kpbs.org) — Coronado has joined San Diego Community Power, paving the way for residents to choose cleaner electricity options starting around early 2028, pending state approval. Locals will be able to pick from several renewable-heavy plans, with Coronado councilmembers helping oversee the nonprofit's decisions and aiming to cut emissions while potentially trimming power costs.
   

2. Fall community clean up event: EDCO bulk trash pickup (coronadotimes.com) — Coronado households can set out bulky trash items and extra yard waste for free curbside pickup on their regular collection day during the week of October 12–16. The community cleanup also offers free self-serve mulch or compost at A Avenue and 2nd Street, giving residents a convenient way to clear clutter and improve their gardens.
   

3. Hateful chalk graffiti persists at Silver Strand military housing (coronadotimes.com) — Residents of Silver Strand military housing in Coronado are grappling with two years of racist chalk graffiti at neighborhood playgrounds, prompting investigations by Liberty Military Housing and the Coronado Police Department. Neighbors describe feeling unsafe as incidents increase, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the vandals to contact both the housing office and CPD's investigations unit so the hate incidents can stop.
   

4. Coronado Playhouse presents 'Into the Woods' (thecoronadonews.com) — Coronado residents can catch the beloved musical "Into the Woods" at Coronado Playhouse from Oct. 23 to Nov. 22, with evening and matinee performances on weekends. The show revisits classic fairy-tale characters while exploring deeper themes of growing up, consequences, and connection, and tickets are available directly through the playhouse's website.
