• Washington woman identified as body found buried in California desert in 1974 (komonews.com) — Cudahy residents are learning that a young woman who once lived in their city has been identified as a homicide victim found in the Desert Hot Springs area back in 1974. Investigators used advanced DNA and genealogy tools to confirm the victim as 19-year-old Rebecca Jean McMahan and are now asking anyone who knew her, or has information about her time in Cudahy or nearby cities, to contact Riverside County's cold case team.
