• Culver City calls for volunteers to clear trash from Ballona Creek (westsidetoday.com) — Culver City is asking residents to help clean trash from Ballona Creek this Saturday, Sept. 19, with volunteers spread across five local sites from Sepulveda Boulevard to Baldwin Hills Overlook. The city's Public Works team will provide coordination, track pollution data for Heal the Bay, and answer questions by phone, making it easy for neighbors to pitch in for cleaner local waterways.
   

• Centaurs look to snap losing streak against 4-0 Warren Bears (culvercityobserver.com) — Culver City High's Centaurs head to Downey on Friday night aiming to snap a two-game skid against the undefeated Warren Bears, after a tough loss to Bishop Amat.
