Boy Arrested After Strong-Armed Carjacking In Culver City: Police

A teen boy accused of taking part in a strong-armed carjacking in Culver City has been arrested, authorities said.

CULVER CITY, CA — A teen boy accused of taking part in a strong-armed carjacking in Culver City has been arrested, authorities said.

The incident took place at around 9 p.m. March 3 in a parking lot in the 10800 block of Jefferson Boulevard, just south of Overland Avenue, when a female victim was approached by three male youths aged 16-25, who were wearing red bandannas over their faces, according to the Culver City Police Department.

The suspects forcefully took the victim's purse and car keys and quickly located her vehicle using the stolen keys. One suspect drove away in her car while the others followed in another vehicle, driving east on Jefferson Boulevard, police said.

The stolen vehicle was located the next morning in Los Angeles. Forensics personnel used fingerprints recovered from the vehicle to identify suspects, police said.

Detectives located one suspect Tuesday afternoon and took him into custody without incident, police said.

The suspect's name was withheld due to his age. Police did not provide any information about the other two suspects.
