Report on Closed Session- Council Turns Down Purchase of Culver Steps, Negotiating Sony Animation (culvercitycrossroads.com) — Culver City leaders have decided not to pursue buying the Culver Steps property at 9300 Culver Blvd., after an extended closed-session discussion at Monday's council meeting. The council is also giving staff negotiating instructions for the Sony Animation campus on Washington Boulevard, with any future purchase decisions promised to occur in open public session where residents can weigh in.
   

4. A Deer Walks into a Dance – Artist Laureate Vic Marks @ the Nimoy (culvercitycrossroads.com) — Culver City's Artist Laureate, Victoria Marks, is premiering her dance work "A Deer Walks into a Dance" on October 16 and 17, 2026, at the Nimoy Theater in Westwood. The piece, created for four dancers with original music, plays with shifting identities and imagined worlds, offering locals a nearby chance to see the city's laureate in action.
   

5. Center Theatre Group Announces 2026/27 LA Artist Residencies (culvercityobserver.com) — Center Theatre Group's new 2026–27 LA Artist Residencies will support local theater-makers whose work may appear at venues including the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. The program offers rehearsal space, costumes, props, and creative support to Los Angeles artists, aiming to develop new plays and projects such as an LA wildfires piece and community-focused productions that Culver City theatergoers could eventually see onstage.
