Culver City Extends Citywide Curfew For Sunday
UPDATE: Culver City announced a curfew for residents starting at 4 p.m. Sunday.

CULVER CITY, CA — Following looting in Santa Monica Sunday, Culver City announced an earlier curfew at 4 p.m.
City bus routes will also stop, officials announced as protests continued in the city in response to George Floyd's arrest and killing in Minneapolis.
The city had announced the curfew for 8 p.m. but decided to change the time to 4 p.m. following looting in nearby Santa Monica.

"To protect public safety, a curfew will again be in effect tonight, Sunday, May 31 at 8:00 PM to Monday, June 1 at 5:30 AM in #CulverCity. Culver CityBus Service will be cancelled again tonight. Call Culver CityBus Customer Service at (310) 253-6500 for a ride home tonight," city officials announced.
Santa Monica city officials also announced an extended curfew for Sunday.

"The City of Santa Monica will join our neighboring cities in extending our curfew to tonight, May 31, 2020 at 8 p.m. through tomorrow, Monday, June 1 at 5:30 a.m.," the city announced in a news release.
"Emergency responders are exempt, as are those traveling to and from work or seeking or giving emergency care," according to a city news release. "The City of Santa Monica values peaceful protest as vital to our democracy. "
A peaceful protest started in Santa Monica near Palisades Park Sunday with hundreds marching for peace in response to the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
"As of 1:25 p.m., a peaceful protest is underway along Ocean Avenue between Montana and Colorado," the city announced. "The Santa Monica Police Department is on site and has a presence throughout the community. The public’s safety is our top priority and we ask the community to avoid Ocean Avenue at this time. "
Culver City, Santa Monica and nearby Los Angeles residents were on curfew Saturday night following protests across Los Angeles.
