Recent childhood obesity statistics are staggering. 30% of California children are obese or overweight, a number that has more than tripled since 1980. The Sound Body Sound Mind Foundation is fighting the epidemic by donating state-of-the-art fitness equipment and resources to schools. Alliance William and Carol Ouchi High School is one of several Alliance College-Ready Public Schools to work with Sound Body Sound Mind in an effort to improve student fitness.

“Research indicates that physical well-being enhances mental acuity and learning.” said Judy Burton, President and CEO of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools. “ We are grateful to Sound Body Sound Mind for the opportunity to enhance our rigorous college prep curriculum and the lives of our students with their physical fitness program and state-of-the-art equipment.”
