New Posters Promote Kindness, Inclusivity In Culver City
What do you think? Will these posters make an impact on local businesses and their customers?
CULVER CITY, CA – Free posters promoting kindness and inclusivity are now available for any Culver City business at the City Clerk's Office. The poster initiative was approved by City Council last month, prompted by Culver City Mayor Jeffrey Cooper. Cooper hopes that the posters will help generate a dialogue in the community about tolerance and embracing our diversity, he said.
“I brought this item to my colleagues on the City Council, because I think it is important for everyone who comes to Culver City to shop in a store, eat in a restaurant, or visit any of our service related-retailers to feel that they will be treated equally,” said Mayor Cooper.
Any Culver City business that would like to pick up a free 13”x19” poster to display in its storefront may visit the City Clerk’s Office on the first floor of City Hall at 9770 Culver Boulevard. Posters are available while supplies last.

In 2016, the City Council adopted a resolution to condemn violence and hate speech, expressing solidarity with Muslims and all those targeted for their ethnicity, race, religion or sexual orientation. The following year, City Council adopted a resolution declaring Culver City to be a Sanctuary City for all residents, regardless of immigration status. Culver City’s Legislative and Policy Platform also includes goals of supporting positive efforts pertaining to Civil and Human Rights.
Last year, the City Council made becoming a City of Kindness a priority as part of its Strategic Plan; one of the city’s goals is to conduct outreach to businesses to promote the practice of kindness, the press release said.
