A good Samaritan flagged down a Los Angeles Fire Department crew driving nearby. The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital for surgery, police said. He has since been released.

The shooter ran away after firing the gun, and officers believe they have identified a white newer model Chevy Impala, with a non-operational right headlamp and damage on the right side of its hood, as a possible suspect vehicle.
