'The Rock' Hands Over Keys To Personal Custom Truck To Veteran
"Just an honor for me to give a little bit of joy to a dude who deserves probably a lot more than just my truck," actor Dwayne Johnson said.

CULVER CITY, CA — Inspired by a Navy veteran's compassion and good works in the community, actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson decided to gift the vet his personal custom Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck.
Johnson posted a video on his Instagram page of the moment he stunned Oscar Rodriguez of Los Angeles with the gift during a Thankgiving Day screening of Johnson's recently released Netflix film, "Red Notice," which also stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot.
Johnson invited fans to a special screening of his the film in Culver City and "I wanted to do something cool for all of them," he said.

But that was only the beginning.
"I also wanted to do something BIG ... something MASSIVE ... something unforgettable for one fan."
He said he originally wanted to give away the Porsche Taycan that he drives (and crashes) in the movie but, when he reached out to Porsche, the carmaker turned him down.
"But I still said 'yes,' I'll do one better. I'll give away my personal custom truck as the gift, my baby," he said.
So, he gathered information on everyone in the audience "and, ultimately, Oscar's story moved me. Takes care of his 75-year-old mom. Personal trainer. Leader at his church. Provides support and meals for women victimized by domestic violence. Proud and humble Navy veteran. Kind human being."
Rodriguez was visibly choked up when Johnson handed over the keys to "his baby" in the parking lot of the movie theater, momentarily losing his composure and hugging the professional wrestler-turned-actor.
"I thought this was your truck, bro," Rodriguez is heard telling Johnson on the video.
"It is my truck," Johnson responded. "Now it's your truck."
As further explanation for his largesse, Johnson said,"Just an honor for me to give a little bit of joy to a dude who deserves probably a lot more than just my truck. Oscar said it right, just before he drove away — 'it’s just love.' That’s all it is, brother. Just love. Go enjoy your new truck, dude, and Merry Christmas to you and your family."
