AAII-SV June Event: Morningstar's Best Ideas and 7 Keys to a Retirement Portfolio

Join us for our June event where we will have a double-header session from Christine Benz of Morningstar!

Session 1: MORNINGSTAR’S BEST IDEAS FOR 2016 AND BEYOND

Christine will share Morningstar’s outlook for various parts of the stock market based on the firm’s equity analysts’ bottom-up research. She’ll also discuss the analysts’ best ideas across a swath of investment vehicles: individual stocks, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds. Finally, she’ll present model retirement portfolios consisting of the firm’s top-rated mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.

Session 2: 7 KEYS TO A SUCCESSFUL RETIREMENT PORTFOLIO PLAN

Given low yields and the ebbing away of pensions, retirement planning today is much more challenging than it was even 20 years ago. Christine will discuss the keys to crafting a retirement portfolio that’s well-balanced, tax-efficient, and low-maintenance. She will also share some model portfolios populated with Morningstar’s high-conviction mutual fund and exchange-traded fund picks.

About Christine Benz: Christine is director of personal finance for Morningstar and senior columnist for Morningstar.com. She contributes several articles and videos to the website each week, focusing primarily on retirement planning and investment portfolio strategies. She is the author of “30-Minute Money Solutions: A Step-by-Step Guide to Managing Your Finances” (Wiley,2010). In addition, Christine is co-author of “Morningstar Guide to Mutual Funds: 5-Star Strategies for Success,” a national bestseller published in 2003, and author of the book’s second edition, which was published in 2005. Before assuming her current role in 2008, Christine also served as Morningstar’s director of mutual fund analysis. She has worked as an analyst and editor at Morningstar since 1993.
