Cyclist Suffers Severe Injuries In Hit-and-Run On Fremont Avenue
BREAKING: Suspect described as male with dark ponytail, driving a white, four-door sedan, possibly late model Acura: Sunnyvale police.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – A bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a hit-and-run collision in Sunnyvale this morning, a city Department of Public Safety spokesman said.
A 67-year-old woman was riding her bicycle on East Fremont Avenue east of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road where a white Acura hit her around 10:30 a.m., Department of Public Safety Capt. Shawn Ahearn said.
Officers responded to the scene and spoke with witnesses to the collision, Ahearn said.

The bicyclist was transported to a hospital for injuries considered life-threatening, Ahearn said.
The suspect driver fled the scene at a high rate of speed going east on Fremont Avenue and hasn't been located as of this afternoon. There was no video surveillance of the collision captured from neighboring businesses, he said.

He was described as driving a white, four-door sedan, possibly a late model Acura, and having dark hair in a ponytail. The suspect vehicle will likely have damage to the front bumper and hood area, police said.
Investigators are looking into whether drugs, alcohol or speed played a role in the collision, according to Ahearn.
