
The Tassajara Valley Little League Minor A Red Sox went undefeated in the playoffs beating the Phillies 9 to 5 tonight to claim the Minor A championship and will be representing TVLL in the TOC tournament starting this Saturday at 1pm against San Ramon at the Pleasanton Sports Fields.

Game Highlights: The Phillies took an early lead with the help of Peter Kern's first inning double. The Red Sox came back with a couple of right field singles by Chase Lober and Vince Cesca to help put the Red Sox on top. The Phillies first baseman Charlie Ferbert made an unassisted double play on a shot to first. Brian Duroff struck out the side in the 2nd inning and had some strong fielding support as he pitched into the fourth inning. In the bottom of the 4th, Brian Duroff hit an RBI single and the Red Sox had a 5 to 2 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, Brian had another RBI single followed by Kyle Ecker's 2 run triple to right field. Walter Cribb followed with another RBI single to make the score 9 to 2. The Phillies rallied in the top 6th with a single by Charlie Ferbert, a walk by Griffin Snyder and another double by Peter Kern. The Red Sox then brought in Jack Bodner to pitch. He struck out the first two batter he faced and then gave up an RBI single to Zach Nelson to make the score 9 to 5. Jack then struck out the final batter for the championship save and was mobbed by his teammates!
