Casino Night Fundraiser Will Benefit Danville Teen Paralyzed in Swimming Pool Accident

The fun-filled night will benefit Jake Javier and his family.

DANVILLE, CA — The community is invited to a casino night fundraiser to benefit a Danville teenager paralyzed last June in a tragic swimming pool accident. Jake Javier is a former San Ramon Valley High School football player who was paralyzed from the chest down after he fell into a pool, injuring himself at a graduation party the day before he was to graduate.

East Bay residents are invited to a "Red Carpet Casino Night" fundraiser hosted by Blackhawk Plastic Surgery on September 24. The event will feature an auction, casino games, cocktails and dinner. Tickets are available online. Those interested in attending are encouraged to buy tickets early because the event will have a maximum capacity of 300 people.

Others in the community are rallying to raise money for the teen and his family. Jake's classmate, Paige Badstubner, made bracelets and is selling them at Snickerdoodles on Hartz Ave. in Danville. Earlier this month, the owners of Primo’s Pizzeria & Pub, where Jake worked while attending school, donated 50 percent of the proceeds of all orders toward Jake’s medical care and rehabilitation. Pinot’s Palette in Livermore recently celebrated their grand opening event with a fundraiser for Jake.
