Danville Native Voted Off 'American Idol,' Won't Stop Singing

DANVILLE, CA — While Danville native and country singer Grace Leer is no longer in the running for "American Idol," she's not giving up on her singing dream.

Leer made it into the top 10 and was vying for the top 7 when her journey with the show came to an end. Still, her run on the show inspired her to quit her job in sales to pursue music full-time, Leer said on her Instagram page.

Leer said she plans on releasing music.

"It’s scary, but it’s now or never. Follow your dreams people and do things that scare you," she said, "the reward is so worth it."

Before she was a Nashville-based singer, Leer was a soccer champ at San Ramon Valley High School. She went on to play for University of California, Berkeley.

If you would have told me 7 months ago when I was driving to Milwaukee with @corkyclouse to audition for @americanidol that I would make Top 10, I would have laughed and said “ya right.” This journey has completely changed my life.
