For You Bocce Ball Fans Out There in Danville-Land (Video)
Some people have a fever and the only cure is more bocce ball.

A few bocce ball courts at the Blackhawk Country Club has spread into a fever of competition with a spring league of nearly 700 participants.
A recent column by the Contra Costa Times' George Lambert took a roll down the bocce ball lane.
He reports that out of the courts at the Blackhawk Country Club a league started last fall that pulled in 480 players. It grew this spring to 680 (the spring league ends this month).

Oh, you don't know what bocce ball is?
Well, it's kind of like bowling and kind of like curling. Basically you roll a small ball down an alley into a designated area and then spend the rest of the time trying to get other balls as close to the first -- and smaller -- one as possible.
Easy peazy, right?
Maybe not.
